working toward an affordable connected studio

The Scramble Thing is a plug and play audio interface that speaks AVB, a live audio protocol that allows flexible control of audio routing around your network. What's so special about AVB is that it has no more than 2ms latency (class A) with zero jitter between connected devices across the network (up to 6 switches). AVB-enabled switches will guarantee the necessary bandwidth across the network, so other traffic won't mess up your live performance. The Thing Developer Edition is a Waveshare ESP32-P4-ETH with a mono 24bit CODEC, and you can couple it with an external CODEC of your choice using the onboard I2S pins.

we won't stop here

The Thing is our first project. We will have more. The current incarnation of the Thing is as a developer tool for testing and development of your own custom AVB enpoint. With access to the source code and plenty of onboard pins, you can add features and mod the device as you like. We also understand plenty of users will just want to get a Thing that works out of the box, and of course, with proper instrument hookups like XLR, 1/4inch jacks. That's in the plan.
